Business Manager, The Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
Isata Munu is the Business Manager for the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) & CRGE and American Studies departments. She has worked at UMCP for over 3 years. Her responsibilities include management of state-appropriated funds, sponsored awards/ post-award management as well as performing all financial/payroll functions within both departments and the center. Prior to joining the UMCP family in 2018, she worked at Johns Hopkins University/Jhpiego where she held various positions, including Grants and Contracts Analyst. Isata brings with her over 20 years of experience in both higher education and the private sector. She holds an MBA with a specialization in management and has wide experience in budgeting and fiscal operations. While she has spent her formidable years here in the US, Isata is a native of Sierra Leone. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cross-cultural relations, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family. Isata is a lover of life! #peaceandblessings
